After extensive research of taxidermy process Ferguson approached a variety of inanimate objects following the steps taken to skin, mount, and present trophy game and animal skin rugs. In his series of Chair Skin Rugs, the pelt of the chair is removed, hand-stitched to a layer of felt and finally sewn to gabardine backing.
